Wear OS 7 looks ready to land on Pixel Watchs soon

Google may be preparing to roll out Wear OS 7 to Pixel Watch users sooner than expected. Verizon’s official support pages for the Pixel Watch 2, Pixel Watch 3, and Pixel Watch 4 have been updated with references to the next major Wear OS update, suggesting the release could be close.

The pages, first spotted by Droid-Life, list Wear OS 7 alongside the June 2026 security patch and software version CP2A.260603.001. Verizon’s changelog also mentions performance and stability improvements, which is standard language for these kinds of carrier support pages.

There is one odd detail. The pages reportedly mention a June 9 release date, but the update does not appear to have started rolling out yet. Google has also not made an official announcement, so this should still be treated as a placeholder.

Which Pixel Watches could get Wear OS 7 first?

It appears that the Wear OS 7 update will be available on all Pixel watches other than the first one, which launched back in 2022. This may disappoint users of the original Pixel Watch, but since the device’s guaranteed software updates ended in October 2025, the exclusion isn’t surprising.

Wear OS 7 was announced at Google I/O 2026 and brings some of the biggest changes to Google’s smartwatch platform in years. Google says watches upgrading from Wear OS 6 can expect up to 10% better battery life, which could make a noticeable difference on devices that already need careful daily charging.

Widgets, Live Updates, and Gemini caveats

The most visible change is the arrival of Wear Widgets, which replace the old full-screen Tiles with more flexible 2×1 and 2×2 widget layouts. Live Updates are also coming, bringing real-time information such as delivery progress, sports scores, and other ongoing alerts directly to the watch face.

Wear OS 7 also lays the groundwork for Gemini Intelligence on the wrist, though Google has said that feature will arrive on select smartwatch models later in the year. That means existing Pixel Watch owners may get the core Wear OS 7 upgrade soon, but the full AI experience could remain limited to newer hardware.
