Oxford – Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Scholarship celebrates new cohort graduates

Dubai, UAE, 22 June 2026- The Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Knowledge Foundation (MBRF) celebrated the graduation of a new cohort of students supported by the Oxford – Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Graduate Scholarship, in line with MBRF’s commitment to nurture Arab talents while advancing knowledge, innovation, and research excellence across the region.

Launched in 2016 through a strategic partnership between MBRF and the University of Oxford, the scholarship empowers Arab students to pursue postgraduate education opportunities at globally leading academic institutions. The initiative reflects a shared vision for investing in human capital and empowering future leaders, researchers, and innovators capable of contributing to the sustainable development of their communities and the wider Arab world.

His Excellency Jamal bin Huwaireb, CEO of MBRF, said: “We firmly believe that human capital investments are the cornerstone of sustainable development and building knowledge-based societies. Through initiatives such as the Oxford – Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Graduate Scholarship, we aim to support exceptional Arab talents by opening up access to world-class educational opportunities that can enhance their academic, research, and leadership capabilities.”

His Excellency added: “The scholarship further highlights our ongoing commitment to supporting students, researchers, and innovators who have the potential to drive positive change within their communities and beyond. We are proud to celebrate the achievements of the new cohort of graduates, whose success stories reflect the transformative power of knowledge. Their accomplishments will continue to inspire future generations, further highlighting the significance of long-term investments in scientific research, innovation, and intellectual development across the Arab region.”

Over the years, the scholarship has supported numerous distinguished scholars from diverse disciplines, including engineering, medicine, oncology, chemistry, physics, mathematics, public policy, history, social data science, Middle Eastern studies, computer science, and international development. Through their academic and research achievements, these scholars have contributed to addressing several pressing global challenges, including climate change, renewable energy, healthcare innovation, sustainable development, artificial intelligence, and social transformation.

The program’s graduates have also made significant achievements by publishing their research in internationally recognized journals, developing innovative solutions in clean energy and healthcare, advancing scientific understanding in emerging fields, and contributing to public policy discussions and social development initiatives. In addition, several alumni have successfully secured positions at leading universities and research institutions, demonstrating the scholarship’s pivotal role in nurturing a new generation of Arab knowledge leaders.

The Oxford – Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Graduate Scholarship serves as a leading platform for academic excellence, empowering Arab talents to pursue higher studies and engage in pioneering research under the guidance of renowned global scholars. Moreover, the program continues to strengthen the Arab knowledge landscape by fostering innovation, supporting scientific inquiry, and preparing future generations to address regional and global challenges through knowledge-driven solutions.

The scholarship underscores MBRF’s dedication to advancing education and creating meaningful opportunities for Arab youth. By equipping scholars with the skills, expertise, and international exposure needed to excel in their respective fields, the initiative continues to contribute to the development of progressive, resilient, and knowledge-based societies across the region.
