With Hedley on board, AKCEL GP makes its debut in the Formula 3 circuit—accelerating into higher leagues with a renewed ambition to carve its space on the global motorsport map

Dubai, UAE; May 19, 2025: AKCEL GP, a UAE-based motorsport team, today announced its entry into the Formula 3 circuit and its decision to partner with and support Formula 3 racing talent James Hedley. This move is part of the team’s broader strategy to support emerging drivers and promote motorsport culture in the UAE and across the GCC. It marks a major step forward following the team’s previous participation in the Formula 4 racing circuit.

James Hedley, a 21-year-old British Formula 3 racing talent, has competed in various racing circuits during his teenage years. In 2018, he won the Ginetta Junior Winter Championship at just 15 years old, followed by a victory in the Ginetta Junior Championship the next year. Over the past five years, he has consistently competed in both Formula 4 and Formula 3 events.

The sponsorship is centered on James Hedley, who has officially joined AIX Racing for the remainder of the 2025 FIA Formula 3 season. This reflects AKCEL GP’s belief in nurturing future champions and contributing meaningfully to their career trajectories.

“We are very proud and excited to support James Hedley. We see tremendous potential in him and our partnership will go a long way towards advancing his career. This marks a significant milestone in our motorsport journey, reflecting our strong commitment to supporting top-tier racing talent and gaining visibility on a global stage. This also firmly positions AKCEL GP within the international motorsport landscape,” said Amit Kaushal, Group Chairman of AKCEL Group.

“This partnership is just the beginning as AKCEL GP plans to expand its presence in motorsport through more strategic collaborations, sponsorships, and active participation in upcoming seasons.”

He emphasized, “This aligns with our long-term vision of transforming the UAE into a global hub for motorsport—by identifying, training, and positioning local talent on the global racing circuits where the UAE flag could fly high. With a growing number of UAE nationals and residents participating in both amateur and professional motorsport, we are confident that this vision will take shape in the years to come.”

With this announcement, AKCEL GP also strengthens its partnership with AIX Holding, particularly across its motorsport venture- AIX Racing. The collaboration brings together James Hedley’s racing aspirations and AKCEL GP’s mission to elevate the region’s presence in global motorsports.

James Hedley says, “It’s an absolute dream come true for me. I want to thank AKCEL GP very much and AIX Racing for believing in me and giving me this opportunity.”

AKCEL GP, a UAE subsidiary of the UK-headquartered AKCEL Group, is investing in the training and development of local and regional talent to help them succeed at international levels. The team recently introduced its new roster for a series of global racing events aimed at enhancing the UAE’s visibility in top-tier motorsport.

Since officially entering the global racing scene in January 2025, AKCEL GP has been making headlines.

Competing in the Regional European Championship by Alpine (FRECA), Formula Regional Middle East Championship (FRMEC), and Formula 4 (F4) series, the team’s entry marks a significant milestone for the UAE.

AKCEL GP is championing a new era of diversity and talent. Founded on the principles of acceleration and excellence, the team aims to push the boundaries of performance and inclusivity. AKCEL GP’s roster of drivers includes rising stars from diverse nationalities, showcasing the team’s global vision and commitment to empowering the next generation of racers.
