Engineers at MIT and Stanford University have developed a vine-like robotic gripper that wraps around objects before gently lifting them. The innovative robot consists of a pressurized box that releases inflatable tubes capable of expanding around objects before retracting to lift them. The engineers have designed it to safely handle fragile objects like a glass vase, as well as heavier and awkwardly shaped ones like watermelons. In what could turn out to be groundbreaking development for the care industry, it can even lift a human. Compared to some of the other care-focused robots like the abandoned Robear, this new design…
Internal code in iOS 26 has reportedly leaked Apple’s 2026 iPad roadmap. Folks at MacWorld cite code for a pre-release iOS 26 build, claiming that the new baseline iPad will carry the codenames “J581” and “J582.” Further, the iPad could run on Apple’s A19 chip, the one that we’ve seen on the baseline iPhone 17. This could provide the 12th-generation iPad a significant performance jump over the current model that features the A16 chip. To put things into perspective, the A19 chip features more RAM (8GB) and offers about 50% more processing power than the A16 chip. Along with the…
The bread and butter of Chinese tech company Hisense is TVs, specifically ones that offer tech often reserved for premium models but at a lower price. And with tech expo CES 2026 being the biggest event of the year for new TV announcements, we’re expecting to soon see what the brand has up its sleeves when it begins on January 6. Last year’s CES saw Hisense unveil a gargantuan 116-inch TV, called the TriChroma LED, and while its mini-LED goodness never trickled down to smaller screen sizes that we could buy, we probably haven’t seen the last of its RGB…
Google is speeding up the Gemini for Home rollout to help more users get access to the AI-powered upgrade on their smart speakers and displays. Gemini for Home, which replaces Assistant on Google Home devices, first became available for early access in October. It has since made its way to millions of users in the US, but many Google Home users still haven’t received access. If you’re one of them, there’s some good news. Google has announced a faster invitation process to help more users try out Gemini for Home. In a Nest community post, the company said that those…
If you’re a fan of rocket launches, then you’ll absolutely love these charts created by Flight Atlas. The site launched earlier this year but a recent post on X by Rocket Lab chief Peter Beck has brought it wider exposure. Flight Atlas lets you filter rocket launches in a myriad of ways, including rocket type, date, country, and company. Hover the mouse over each rocket image to pull up the vehicle information and launch details. Even better, it presents the data using stunning visuals that depict each and every rocket ever used, and presents them in size proportion based on…
Dubai, December 11, 2025 — For thousands of UAE residents, the slow crawl between Dubai and Sharjah has become an unavoidable part of daily life. But medical experts caution that the long hours spent sitting in traffic may be doing more harm than many commuters realise. According to leading knee specialist Dr. Azam Badar Khan, widely known as Dr. Knee, the prolonged immobility caused by bumper-to-bumper traffic is contributing to a rise in early knee pain, stiffness, and premature joint degeneration among regular drivers. What should ideally be a 30-minute trip often stretches well beyond an hour due to peak-time…
American Airlines might be swapping its Wi-Fi provider for something a little more galactic. The airline has confirmed it’s been talking to Amazon Leo (formerly Project Kuiper) about powering its in-flight internet. This could be a massive win for Jeff Bezos’ satellite venture, putting it head-to-head with Elon Musk’s Starlink in a battle for dominance at 38,000 feet. Tiiny AI has unveiled what Guinness World Records has verified as the world’s smallest personal AI supercomputer. It is called the Tiiny AI Pocket Lab, and despite being about the size of a power bank, it promises performance levels that normally require very expensive hardware. Other small supercomputers such as NVIDIA’s Project Digits, priced around $3,000, and the DGX Spark, which comes for $4,000, sit at price points that put them out of reach for most everyday users. Tiiny AI argues that today’s real AI bottleneck is not computing power but our reliance on the cloud. GTM director Samar Bhoj…
