Beats x Jennie headphones are so slick even K-Pop haters will thirst for them

Beats is collaborating with Black Pink’s Jennie for a pair of new limited-edition wireless headphones, and annoyingly enough, for anyone determined to roll their eyes at celebrity headphone drops, it actually looks very good.

The new model is the Beats Solo 4 JENNIE Special Edition, which is a co-designed version of the Solo 4 that keeps the familiar over-the-ear headphone design, but dresses it up in a much more fashionable package.

Why these limited-edition Beats headphones stand out

The best part of the collab is that Beats isn’t just sticking Jennie’s name on the box. It has built a special edition variant that comes in Onyx Black, and it includes two attachable black bows. It even ships with its own custom case. Beats adds that one UltraPlush ear cushion is embellished with symbols inspired by Jennie’s music and aesthetic. It’s the kind of small design detail that makes the whole thing feel more thought-through than most brand tie-ins.

These special edition wireless headphones are clean, dark, and styled with just enough flair to stand out without becoming costume-y. Even people who do not care about K-pop at all can probably look at these and admit that Beats knew exactly what it was doing here.

What else do they offer?

Aside from the new aesthetics, the headphones are still the same Beats Solo 4. In other words, you get 40mm drivers that promise to reduce distortion and improve clarity and range. The brand is also claiming up to 50 hours of battery life on a single full charge, and there’s even an option to use these with a 3.5mm cable for a wired listening experience that doesn’t drain the battery.

The seamless connectivity also makes a return with one-touch pairing support for both iOS and Android. So it isn’t just an Apple-only fashion accessory. Leaning towards Jennie’s broader creative identity, Beats has even bundled a personally curated Apple Music playlist. The Beats Solo 4 JENNI Special Edition is set to debut later this week, on April 24.
