Chery UAE Challenges Media Pros & Influencers to Smash & Drill the TIGGO 9 Chassis

Friday, May 30th, 2025: In a bold initiative that aims to highlight the durability of Chery cars, Chery UAE, in partnership with its official dealer AW Rostamani, hosted the ultimate car test dubbed “Drill It If You Can” at The Smash Room Dubai, challenging media professionals and influencers to attempt to smash and drill through the TIGGO 9 chassis.

Made with high-resistance steel, the TIGGO 9 frame stood untouched despite the participants’ many attempts to smash it using heavy tools, acing the most severe car test yet and demonstrating the impressive strength and resilience of the Chery body.

“Chery cars are simply built different”, said Zaher Sabbagh, Director of Chery UAE, adding: “The TIGGO 9 chassis has stood the ultimate smash test, highlighting once more Chery’s commitment to innovation, not only in terms of intelligent driving but also in terms of safety for all passengers. This is an SUV you can trust your family in. We’re not just offering a stylish design; we’re offering safe luxury, proven reliability and peace of mind.”

It is noteworthy that Chery Automobile had recently conducted and successfully passed a frontal full width rigid barrier test – aligned with the strict Euro NCAP standards – on its flagship TIGGO 9 model in its state-of-the-art safety laboratory in China, demonstrating its commitment to “safety is the ultimate luxury”.

During the test – which can precisely simulate real-world accident scenarios and has become a critical benchmark for evaluating vehicle safety performance – TIGGO 9 impacted a rigid barrier with full frontal overlap at 50km/h to assess its crash protection performance under extreme conditions. Upon collision, no deformation was noted to the TIGGO 9’s A pillar or doors; no intrusion, leakage, smoke, fire or explosion of the battery pack were observed; airbags and other safety features deployed normally; and there was enough survival space for passengers.
