Dubai, United Arab Emirates, 14 August 2024: Looking for a fresh challenge that blends the thrill of soccer with the precision of table tennis? Try Teqball—an exciting new sport that blends the fast-paced action of football with the tactical precision of table tennis. Played on a curved table with a soccer ball, players must use any part of their body except hands and arms to volley the ball across the net. Requiring agility, coordination, and quick reflexes, points are scored by outmaneuvering opponents and landing the ball on their side.

5 Things To Know About Teqball

  1. Teqball combines multiple sports

Played between two or four people, Teqball merges elements of football, table tennis, and volleyball, creating a unique sport that demands agility, precision, and control, making it an engaging and versatile game for everyone.

  1. It’s played on an innovative curved table

The game is played on a specially designed convex table that keeps the ball in constant motion. This innovative equipment adds a challenging twist, requiring players to adapt quickly and think strategically, which contributes to the sport’s dynamic nature.

  1. Matches are played over three sets

Each of the three sets is played until one side has reached 12 points. You win a point by hitting the opponent’s side of the table and them not returning it.

  1. It offers health benefits that are accessible to all

Teqball offers significant health benefits, including improved heart and lung health through its rigorous cardio workout. It also enhances muscle strength and bone density, sharpens coordination and reflexes, and stimulates mental agility, helping to reduce stress and anxiety. It’s also a highly inclusive sport that welcomes players of all ages and skill levels. It’s easy to pick up and offers layers of complexity for those looking to master the game.

5. It’s a hit with some of the world’s biggest football stars

Teqball is a huge hit with some of football’s biggest stars – David Beckham, Neymar Jnr, Luis Figo and Lionel Messi are all fans of the sport, along with Ronaldinho serving as an official ambassador for the sport.

How to Participate

Try Teqball for yourself this summer at Dubai Sports World (DSW) at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Running until 5th September, DSW offers an action-packed indoor space to enjoy Teqball and a wide range of other sports that the whole family can enjoy.
