Motorola just opened Android 17 beta to more Razr and Edge phones

Motorola is expanding its Android 17 beta program to include a few more older models. This time around, even previous-gen flagships and foldables are getting the invite.

As reported by Android Authority, Motorola is opening the Android 17 beta access to three more devices. This includes the Motorola Razr Plus 2025, Motorola Razr Plus 2024, and the Motorola Edge 50 Ultra. In some markets, the Razr Plus 2024 and 2025 models are sold as the Razr 50 Ultra and Razr 60 Ultra. These are all premium devices, which are finally getting access to the latest beta wave.

More foldables and flagships are getting in

Motorola is no longer keeping the beta to a narrow early list. It is widening the program to include two foldables and one flagship slab phone. To recall, the company first kicked off the Android 17 beta back in February. Back then, it brought the beta program to Moto Edge (2025), Moto G57, and Moto G57 Power.

This arrived not long after Google got things moving, and the company now seems a lot more willing to spread access around than it used to be. For a brand that has not always had the best reputation for speedy Android updates, this shift matters. Even if this is still just beta software, Motorola at least looks more eager than usual to show progress in this cycle.

How to get beta access and where is it available?

Motorola is accepting applications in the US, India, Europe, Latin America, and Brazil. That is a decent spread, and it makes this feel less like a region-locked preview and more like a meaningful expansion for users actually interested in testing the software early.

The company’s process is also pretty standard. Users need to create an account on Motorola’s official community website, add their phone’s IMEI or serial number to their profile, join the Motorola Feedback Network, and apply through the Beta Testing Opportunities page. Once approved, the company sends the beta as an over-the-air update.

Of course, this is still beta software. So users should expect some broken features, battery drain, crashes, or other instabilities.
