Samsung Galaxy Book6 laptops land Intel Ultra 3 series chips and target MacBooks

Samsung has just introduced a trio of new laptops in the Galaxy Book6 series at CES, offering them in 14-inch and 16-inch flavors. The company says these are also its longest-lasting Galaxy Book machines yet, reaching up to 30 hours on a single charge.

A fresh chapter

The Galaxy Book6 Ultra, Galaxy Book6 Pro, and Galaxy Book6 will be up for grabs later this month. One of the biggest draws is the sleek design, which combines symmetrical looks with a two-tone keyboard and haptic touch trackpad. Of the three models, the Galaxy Book6 Pro’s thickness only comes in at 11.6 millimeters.

You get a Dynamic AMOLED 2X display on the Pro and Ultra models, which reaches up to 1,000 nits of peak brightness and also comes with an anti-reflective layer on top. The brightness output can fall up to 0.0005 nits to achieve true blacks, while the refresh rate can climb up to 120Hz, matching the latest MacBook Pro.

Aside from a fresh all-metallic look, Samsung has also equipped these machines with an updated vapor chamber and airflow system for improved thermals, thanks to redesigned fans and vents. At the heart of these PCs is the latest silicon from Intel and Nvidia.

What about the firepower?

These are among the first wave of laptops to come equipped with Intel’s Core Ultra 3 series processors in the Panther Lake, fabricated atop the 18A process node. On the graphics side, buyers can go up to Nvidia’s GeForce RTX 5070 GPU on the Ultra model and Intel’s Arc on the Pro and base trims.

Samsung is also throwing in a whole bunch of AI features into the mix under the Galaxy AI banner. These include AI select, a universal search system, Note Assist, and multi-control for cross-device input sharing, similar to Apple’s ecosystem.
