Samsung leak drops info on a whole bunch of feature upgrades on Galaxy Buds 4

Samsung’s Galaxy Buds 4(s) are right around the corner, and the biggest improvements are coming to the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro. Samsung’s flagship earbuds will reportedly get head gestures, a feature that has been available on the AirPods Pro for quite a while (via Sammyguru).

Basically, head gestures let you respond to notifications by nodding to say yes and shaking to say no. When there’s an incoming call on my iPhone, I can simply nod or shake to answer or reject the call; the same applies to incoming messages.

Head gestures could finally come to Galaxy Buds (Pro)

The feature really helps in situations when I don’t have my handy (it’s either in my pocket or the backpack).

On Galaxy Buds 4 Pro, head gestures should allow users to accept/reject calls, answer Bixby’s yes/no queries, hear/stop notifications, and dismiss alarms, timers, and reminders.

Along with head gestures, the Buds 4 Pro should also get a “find my phone” button, essentially a mechanical shortcut for ringing your smartphone, built into the charging case.

Users should be able to press the button on the charging case twice to play a sound on their smartphone if they’ve misplaced it in the same room.

Camera remote seems to be borrowed from AirPods as well

Samsung has taken another page from Apple’s playbook: “Camera Remote.” The feature will allow users to start a video recording or snap pictures by pinching or holding one of the earbud stems.

It may seem like a small addition, but I use the feature on my AirPods Pro frequently, especially for group shots, tripod setups, or hands-free capture.

I saved the bad news for last: neither the Buds 4 nor the Buds 4 Pro will feature a speaker on their charging case, something that was a part of the initial rumors.

For now, that happens to be the only disappointment from the Buds 4 lineup (hopefully).
