Samsung’s clip-on earbuds and new SmartTag are finally on US store shelves

Samsung has finally started selling its Galaxy Buds On and Galaxy SmartTag 3 in the US. The clip-on earbuds are priced at $229.99, while the SmartTag 3 costs $29.99 individually or $99.99 for a four-pack. Both accessories were announced earlier, though Samsung had only confirmed November 6 availability for the earbuds.

As for the SmartTag 3, the company had mentioned an early November release without giving an exact date. Well, both products are now up for grabs, and they bring some rather interesting features.

The Galaxy Buds On aren’t exactly cheap

At nearly $230, Samsung’s clip-on earbuds are just $20 cheaper than the flagship Galaxy Buds 4 Pro. You also don’t get active noise cancellation, and bass performance isn’t quite as strong. However, there is a reason for going with this particular design.

The Buds On sit outside your ear canals, allowing you to listen to music without blocking surrounding sounds. I can see the appeal for people who find traditional earbuds uncomfortable, or regularly listen to music while running or commuting.

As far as the hardware goes, Samsung has fitted 11.3mm TwinBoost speakers, automatic volume adjustment, and technology to reduce sound leakage. There is also Gemini Live support, head gestures for handling calls, and up to 38 hours of battery life with the case. Some features require compatible Galaxy devices.

The SmartTag 3 has something for iPhone users

Moving over to the SmartTag 3, Samsung has made it 35% smaller and 33% lighter than its predecessor. You get Bluetooth 6.0 Channel Sounding, UWB tracking, and up to 550 days of battery life, stretching to 790 days in Power Saving Mode.

Interestingly, the tracker also works with iPhones through SmartThings Find. Unfortunately, features like Compass View, Ring Phone, and Left Behind Alert remain unavailable on iOS. The SmartTag 3 comes in Black and White. Samsung is also offering a pet collar accessory for keeping track of your furry companions.
