The UAE conference on awareness and diagnosis of childhood infections concluded in Abu Dhabi with the attendance of a large number of pediatric consultants, companies specialized in the medical field, and representatives of medical institutions in the United Arab Emirates.

Dr. Intisar Al Hammadi, Consultant of Nephrology and President of the Emirates Society of Pediatrics and Neonatology, said that this conference aims to raise awareness of respiratory infections in children.

Dr. Intisar Al Hammadi stressed the need to educate doctors on diagnosing and preventing respiratory infections in children, highlighting the role of vaccinations and rapid action despite the disparity in diagnostic resources in health institutions.

Dr. Islam Al Baroudi, Professor of Pediatrics at Cairo University and Consultant Pediatrics in the United Arab Emirates, added that early diagnosis of meningitis is of utmost importance because this disease leads to rapid deterioration and is difficult to control.

Dr.  Islam Al-Baroudi stressed the importance of vaccinations against meningitis, stressing that prevention is better than cure because the complications are very serious. He praised the effective role of the UAE in raising global health awareness, especially during World Pneumonia Day.
