The content creator and author of three books on hacks and gardening shared his vision about creating informative content at the 44th Sharjah International Book Fair

Sharjah, November 15, 2025

The enduring charm of books and reading at the 44th Sharjah International Book Fair (SIBF 2025) was evident in the success of a globally popular social media creator who has written three books encouraging children and adults to balance screen time with hands-on activities. At a session titled “The Science of Fun: Turning Knowledge into Clever Hacks”, Armen Adamjan, the author of Don’t Throw it Out and Did you Know, shared his vision for creating more educational and informative content to help people around the world.

Adamjan, known online as Creative Explained, who has over 25 million followers across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, and Facebook inspired by his videos on plants, upcycling, cleaning hacks, and creative ways to reduce waste, commented that he started writing a book because some people felt he was talking too fast in his videos and secondly, to get them away from the screen and do something tangible like gardening. “Now parents are telling me this is working for their kids, and parents are loving it and grandparents are reading it.”

The Armenian-Dutch creator, who began his career as a filmmaker and transitioned to online videos during the Covid-19 pandemic, said his first viral video on TikTok showed how to regrow green onions from their roots and the success of his plant videos had encouraged him to create content that resonated with his audience. His popular hacks included grinding egg shells in the oven to use as an abrasive or removing crayon stains on the wall with shaving foam.

Adamjan, whose videos are known for his high energy and enthusiastic delivery, said: “I only film my videos when I’m excited, and initially, I didn’t know most of these hacks myself—I was learning as I tested them.”. He mentioned the importance of consistency and his schedule of posting new videos every day.

“In my apartment, everywhere there is an experiment or a stage. There will be an avocado seedling at different stages of growth,” said the TikToker who added that he deleted a video if he did not get 100,000 views in 30 minutes. “I don’t care about views but I care about helping people.” According to him, making the first two seconds of a video compelling was important to avoid losing viewers as people’s attention did not stay beyond three seconds while scrolling on social media.

Adamjan remarked that the book fair and Sharjah had been a positive experience owing to its culture and kindness of people and he was considering shifting his base to the UAE which was a convenient travel hub.

Sharjah International Book Fair 2025 is organised by the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA) under the theme ‘Between You and a Book’, and runs for 12 days until November 16 at Expo Centre Sharjah, welcoming authors, publishers and readers from 118 countries.
