International Women Board of Directors (IWBD) kickstarts its Saudi Arabia chapter with a leadership connection lunch on 6 March; looks at building a leadership community in an emerging market

International Women Board of Directors (IWBD) proudly announces the launch of its Saudi chapter by hosting the Women’s Leadership Connection Lunch on March 6th, 2024, at The St. Regis in Riyadh, KSA.

The Women’s Leadership Connection Lunch will host board members, C-suite executives, and decision-makers committed to fostering diversity and inclusion within corporate governance. This exclusive networking event will offer a unique platform for attendees to engage in meaningful discussions, exchange insights, and cultivate valuable connections to drive the advancement of women’s leadership in boardrooms across Saudi Arabia.

 “We are thrilled to launch IWBD in Saudi Arabia,” said Poonam Chawla, Founder and Managing director of IWBD. “Saudi Arabia has made great strides in recent years to empower women in the workplace in accordance with Vision 2030. After three successful years in the UAE, our Saudi chapter hopes to create a community of leaders that will help deserving women succeed in decision-making roles. We look forward to welcoming esteemed professionals from various industries to collaborate, share experiences, and shape the future of corporate governance in the Kingdom.” 

The International Women Board of Directors obejctives are to Strengthen the leadership capabilities and networks of senior women in corporate positions throughout the Middle East and network with global organization to exchange know how and expertise. Increase awareness of the positive impact of gender diversity on corporate boards, including improvements in KPIs, profitability, and community growth and culture. Partner with local and international organizations to promote the hiring of more women as board directors, leveraging executive head-hunters and engaging with HR directors in the community. Recognize initiative by awarding 10 male CEOs at the annual summit awards ceremony who actively champion and empower women board members, setting an example for other CEOs to support female leadership.
