Man wanted in 38 fraud cases arrested during random search operations in Kuwait

Kuwaiti authorities have arrested an Indian national who wanted in more than 38 cases of fraud, theft and breach of trust.

According to local media reports, the man was accused of fraud, amounting to one million dinars. He already had 16 sentences of imprisonment against him, the media reported, quoting Brigadier General Suleiman Jaber Al Saeedi, head of the Sabah Al-Nasser police station.

The Ministry of Interior officials were conducting a random inspection in the Sabah Al-Nasser area. The man raised the suspicion of officers and when they asked him to stop he tried to flee. However the police managed to stop him.

During interrogation, it was revealed that the Indian national was staying in the country illegally for more than nine years. Later, it became clear that he was wanted for 38 cases ranging from fraud, theft, and breach of trust. The value of amount required to be paid reached about one million dinars, including checks, bills of exchange, and debt declarations, the report said.
