Samsung might soon call you out if you leave your Galaxy Ring disconnected for too long

Samsung is reportedly prepping some improvements for the Galaxy Ring‘s connectivity notifications to give users more useful information. The smart ring already notifies users when it’s running low on battery and when it disconnects from a phone, but an in-development change suggests more helpful alerts could be on the way.

While digging through the latest version of Galaxy Ring Manager, Samsung’s companion app for the wearable, Android Authority discovered new code strings pointing to upcoming enhancements for these notifications. According to the findings, the disconnection alert, which appears when the Galaxy Ring loses its connection to a phone, could soon include additional details such as the ring’s battery level at the time of disconnection.

The updated disconnection notification could make it easier for users to determine whether the Galaxy Ring lost connection due to a drained battery, distance from the phone, or a connectivity problem. Along with showing the battery level, this notification will also remind users to keep the ring charged and avoid letting the battery drain completely to maintain long-term battery health.

Samsung may also flag when a Galaxy Ring stays disconnected for too long

In addition to improving the disconnection alert, Samsung also appears to be working on a new notification that shows how long the Galaxy Ring has been disconnected. The publication suggests this could be useful if users miss the initial alert and may also come in handy while trying to locate a misplaced ring.

For now, these connectivity alert changes appear to be a work in progress and are not live in the latest version of the Galaxy Ring Manager app. As with other features spotted in APK teardowns, there is no guarantee these notifications will roll out to users, but Samsung could introduce them in a future update if development continues.
