5 things we love about the HUAWEI Pura 80 Ultra

Huawei recently launched its flagship camera smartphone, the HUAWEI Pura 80 Ultra, and it has surprised everyone with its unmatched camera prowess. This is the most cutting-edge smartphone camera from Huawei. But a smartphone is more than just a camera and there is defenitely a lot more to love about this mesmerising piece of tech. Here are 5 things about the new smartphone we absolutely fell in love with.

  1. Zoom like never before

First and foremost, it’s the phenomenal zoom camera that grabs all the attention. Even if you have rarely used the zoom camera on your smartphone before, you will find yourself using the one on this smartphone more than the main shooter itself. They are so terrifically good because of something very special Huawei has done. Instead of two smaller image sensors that’s typical of other smartphones, the Switchable Dual Telephoto Camera on the HUAWEI Pura 80 Ultra shares one very large sensor. It combines a 3.7x medium zoom and a powerful 9.4x zoom into a single camera unit with a main-camera-level sensor. The sensor size makes a world of difference. The result is the best light intake ever for a telephoto lens in a smartphone, giving you sharper, clearer zoomed-in photos.

  1. The cinematic main camera

What could be more exciting than a fantastic zoom camera? An even better main camera. The Pura 80 Ultra is going up against large mirrorless systems and even cinema cameras with its flagship primary shooter. The dynamic range is an incredible 16 stops. This is when many professional cameras only manage about 15 stops (a stop of dynamic range gives the camera one extra level of flexibility to capture bright and dark areas). Basically, that means when you are shooting a subject against the sun, pictures will come out crisp and sharp and won’t look like a smudge of orange crayon.

Having a super large sensor with high dynamic range can do wonders when you are shooting in low light as well. Scenes with fire, like bonfire concerts or blazing flames, are tough to capture because of the extreme contrast between light and dark. But with the Pura 80 Ultra, the camera can capture the flames clearly, with all their layers and glow. And thanks to advanced colour tuning from the Ultra Chroma Camera, the colours will come out looking just like they do in real life. The photos feel as vivid and immersive as being there.

  1. Luxury-inspired design

The HUAWEI Pura Series is the face of Huawei’s fashion-forward design philosophy. But with the new HUAWEI Pura 80 Series, that vision has set a new bar, especially on the Ultra model. The Pura 80 Ultra refines the Forward Symbol and unveils a bold evolution of the Forward Symbol design. Inspired by timeless sunray motifs found in luxury watches and fine jewellery, the new sunburst pattern creates a striking interplay of light and shadow.

This radiant design captures the feeling of first light breaking through the sky, each beam reflecting off the surface with dazzling brilliance. A golden XMAGE badge and golden lens ring enhance the illusion of light, giving both models a commanding presence. The camera module is framed by a bold, golden ring that forms the iconic Forward Symbol, a glowing emblem of the series’ identity and a dramatic visual focal point.

  1. The EMUI 15 software experience

Besides the cameras and the stunning aesthetics, the new EMUI 15 makes using the Pura 80 Series a smart, secure, and fun experience. There are many subtle AI smart features on the phone, like the ability to recognise when the owner is looking at the phone. If a stranger picks up the phone, the phone will hide the message content from notifications and send it to your smartwatch instead. When you are attending a call in the middle of a crowd, the phone will recognise your voice and automatically filter out the noise to ensure uninterrupted communication. Features like Emoji Crush, interactive theme, AOD interfaces, and interactive lock screen games add some lighthearted touches to the software experience.

  1. Second-Gen Crystal Armor Kunlun Glass

The Pura 80 Ultra upgrades reliability with 2nd-Gen Crystal Armor Kunlun Glass, enhancing outer screen scratch and drop resistance. Not it has 16x better scratch resistance and 25x better drop resistance compared to standard glass for more comprehensive protection and all-around upgraded device reliability.
