CEO Clubs Sustainability Committee and UNDRR Arise UAE Foster Sustainability Dialogue at COP28 UAE

Dubai, UAE, December 6, 2023 — The CEO Clubs Sustainability Committee and UNDRR Arise UAE joined forces to host an enlightening panel discussion on “Sustainable Agriculture & Food Security and Emerging Sustainability Trends and their Impact on Small Businesses.” The event took place at the Pavilion of the United Republic of Tanzania during COP28 UAE, bringing together thought leaders and experts to explore crucial aspects of sustainability.

The esteemed participants included Dr. Tariq Nissami, Founder & CEO of CEO Clubs Network, and Dr. Mustafa Sassa, Chairman at Raj Group of Companies. The discussion was skillfully moderated by Ms. Rachel A. Aron, Managing Director at Tugo Cwiny Management Consulting & Social Development and ESG Advisor.

Ms. Rachel A. Aron emphasized the significance of investing in Tanzania, particularly in the private sector, highlighting the positive impact of sustainable agriculture on the country. She underscored the importance of generating interest and demand for sustainability practices, creating opportunities across the entire agricultural value chain, and supporting women’s entrepreneurial and industrial ventures.

Dr. Tariq Nizami, CEO Clubs Network Founder & CEO, shared key insights into “Sustainable Agriculture & Food Security and Emerging Sustainability Trends and their Impact on Small Businesses.” His remarks shed light on the crucial role of sustainable practices in ensuring food security and fostering a resilient agricultural ecosystem.

Dr. Mustafa Sassa, Chairman at Raj Group of Companies, provided valuable perspectives on the development of the agro-industry. He emphasized that focusing on agriculture can lead to employment sector growth, enhance supply chain and logistics industries, and contribute to the overall economic scope of Tanzania. Dr. Sassa elaborated on sustainability principles, emphasizing the importance of the right actions at the right time. He outlined the evolution of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and highlighted the science behind their sustainable growth. Dr. Sassa stressed the pivotal role of expansion in achieving SME success and the subsequent positive impact on the economy.

The panel discussion not only provided insights into sustainable agriculture and food security but also delved into emerging sustainability trends and their impact on small businesses. The event concluded with a call to action, encouraging collaborative efforts to drive sustainability initiatives that positively impact both businesses and communities.
